How are actor performances rated?

Performances are rated across five professional criteria: Emotional Range & Depth (ability to convey complex emotions), Character Believability (creating convincing characters), Technical Skill & Authenticity (mastery of acting techniques), Screen Presence & Impact (commanding attention), and Chemistry & Interaction (working effectively with other actors). Each category is scored individually, then normalized to create an overall 0-10 performance score.

What does a 0-10 score represent?

The 0-10 score represents the overall quality of an acting performance on ActorRating. Each performance is evaluated across five criteria scored from 0 to 100, averaged, and then converted into a final score out of 10 for easier comparison. Higher scores indicate stronger performances, with community ratings aggregated to provide comprehensive performance analysis.

Are ratings based on movies or performances?

Ratings are based on individual acting performances, not the overall movie. This allows us to separate great performances from mediocre films and vice versa. A single film may have multiple performance ratings - one for each actor's role.

Who can submit ratings?

Anyone can create a free account and submit ratings on ActorRating. Our community-driven approach ensures diverse perspectives while maintaining quality through standardized criteria. All ratings contribute to the aggregated community scores.
